Did you know that Vincent van Gogh started his career in a small town called Etten (nowadays Etten-Leur) in the Dutch province of Brabant? Today, Etten-Leur counts 42,000 inhabitants, many more than the handful who lived here when Vincent arrived in 1881. Vincent returned to his parental home because he needed money. Vincent opened his first workshop in the vicarage, just a few metres from the beautiful church where his father was vicar.
In this Van Gogh Church you’ll find an interesting and unusual exhibition of his very first sketches and drawings provides insight into the life of the young Van Gogh and his love for the people, the farmers, and the landscape of Brabant.Opening hours:
